Freddie Notes added to line up

FREDDIE NOTES – legendary singer of the phenominal global smash hit Montego Bay joins Ska Festival line up!!!

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Freddie Notes launched his career on the famous Jamaican talent show “Opportunity Hour” run and compered by the great Vere Johns and promptly went onto cut his first record at Studio One. Emmirgrating to London in 1964 success soon followed when he joined The Rudies. Recording for Dandy Livingstone’s Downtown label (subsid of Trojan) hits came thick and fast… “Return from South Vietnam”, “Down on the Farm”, “Chicken Inn” and the global smash hit “Montego Bay”. Freddie also enjoyed international solo success with his hit “Walk A Mile In My Shoes”. In 1982 Freddie set the Ethelred Estate Community Youth Club in Kennington, which he runs to this day. We are delighted that Mr.Notes, a true pioneer of reggae in Britain, has agreed to perform at The London Intl Ska Festival 2012.
