The legendary Stranger Cole added to 2016 line up

We are delighted to announce Stranger Cole has been added to The London Intl Ska Festival 2016.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1945 Stranger Cole is a true pioneer of Jamaican music, who’s career not only encompasses the birth of ska, but also rocksteady and reggae. From 1962 he worked with the islands biggest producers, instantly finding success with singles such as Rough and Tough and When You Call My Name (a duet with Patsy Todd) for producer Duke Reid. Further success followed with singles for Studio One’s Clement Coxsone Dodd, Prince Buster, Bunny Lee, Lee Scratch Perry and Sonia Pottinger, and included truly the phenomenal duets with Ken Boothe – (Worlds Fair and Artibella), Gladstone Anderson (Just Like A River, Love Me Today and Love Me This Evening) and solo cuts Run Joe and Banarang.

Now in his 70th year Stranger Cole continues to perform the world over and we are truly honoured to have him headlining day 1 of The London Intl Ska Festival 2016.
